Eating a good nutritional balanced diet doesn't have to cost a fortune. Eating well is about planning and ensuring that you think about your meals during each week. 

It so easy to plan your meals starting with a good breakfast which can include cereal, fruits, yoghurt and nuts and seeds as well as boiled eggs with whole grain toast as an example. If you plan what meals you are going to have through out the week, you are less likely to buy last minute foods that may not be as good in nutrition or as cost effective if you were to prepare food yourself. 

Preparing a good salad to take into work, will take you 10 minutes to prepare and you will soon see that preparing foods yourself is more nutritious and you will soon start to see the difference in your energy, waistline as well as your pocket.

1. Green Leafy Vegetables

Dark leafy greens like spinach are rich in folate, which helps your body produce mood-regulating neurotransmitters, including serotonin and dopamine. One 2012 study found people who consumed the most folate had a lower risk of depression than those who ate the least.

Not to mention, research from the University of Otago found eating fruits and vegetables of any sort (except fruit juice and dried fruit) helped young adults calm their nerves.

2. Turkey Breast

Turkey is a good source of tryptophan, an amino acid (protein building block) that your body converts into serotonin. Research shows that argumentative people who consumed tryptophan become markedly more pleasant, with researchers noting:8
